Tutorial Funtimes

I am completely new to EVE, sure a mate showed me this game nearly 10 years ago, but at the time I only had the cash for 1 subscription based MMORPG. WOW was still running hot and it was my game of choice.

I thought it would be good to go through the tutorial. I had created my character and started following the quest chain. I had just completed the mission where you capture your rookie ship and space and managed to dock just before Downtime. (DT)

When the servers came back up I couldn't figure out how to complete the mission. I probably spent 2 hours trying to figure out why the tutorial didn't work.
"How can i fuck up the tutorial and not be able to work this out!?! WTF is going on?!?" (yes there may have been some slight rage there)


After putting a comment along the lines of "I'm glad I haven't paid to play this shit" in our group's chat, a GM opened up a private chat with me. (Probably just in time as I was about 5 minutes away from saying fuck it and putting EVE in the "buggy as shit" or the "WoW wasn't as bad as this at launch, and eve has been running for ages and they still can't get it right" bucket never to return again.

After asking some questions and describing what was going on he said to lodge a ticket to get the tutorial reset. He said it looks like because I completed the "get a ship" mission before maintenance, and didn't request a new mission straight away (because you do the fitout stuff in between) and I just logged out for the maintenance, it somehow disabled the next mission so Aura wouldn't give it to me.

Within about 30 minutes of lodging the ticket my journal had the next mission offered by Aura so I could continue.After some chatting with the GM, they actually keep an eye on the trial accounts to make sure people don't get too lost and my comment must have brought up some flags straight away.

Unfortunately there was only about another hour that I could play as it was already past midnight when everything was sorted.

When he asked (I assume it was a he) "Is there anything else I can help you with" I asked if it was possible to reverse or invert the mouse scroll. He said "Not yet, sorry" :(

I'll have to have another go and try to finish the tutorial tonight. Thx to those in chat for your help as I was starting to rage hardcore but at least it wasn't me just being retarded (being in the wrong system or something) and managing to get the tutorial wrong, it glitched.
