Fucking Entosis

So our alliance was going to have a station timer come out of RF.  This was going to be at the plumb time of sleep o'clock.  ie early in the morning our time.  It was now just after downtime.

I was doing other things so I just listened in on TS.  One of the area's serial pests was in one of the alliance systems, in a fleet scythe entosising the ihub it from 200km away with a kiting speed over 3000.  What a load of shit.

The guys had scared him off but the partial entosis needed to be undone.  They hadn't brought any entosis stuff with them, so I logged my guys in and brought my entosis blackbird down to capture it back.

After an uneventful 5 minutes or so we were done, and it was now time to wait for our nodes to start popping.  It was due to start at about 1.30am local time.   Ugghh.  Pred said he'd stay up, so I said I would.  Lan said he might see how he goes.

I docked up in station and partially fell asleep during the 3 hour wait.  When crunch time hit, we had a Neut in a VNI pottering around.  Amy was going to bring an Entosis Astero, I had my Blackbird.  One of the other guys had an entosis Ishkur and we had a few ex Alliance members who were going to come down in the hopes of getting some pvp action in the area.

The stage was set and we were ready to go.  Amy brought the Astero into the system.  This was when the fun began.  "Ahhh fuck I'm getting hit by rats" is the line that came through comms.

At this point I was thinking "well shoot them then".  That's when further clarification came through.
"It won't load the system.  I have the gate animation and I'm getting hit by rats, I'm gonna lose my fucking ship!"

Maybe I can kill the rats.  I undocked the proteus from station and warped to the gate I assumed he was coming from.  While checking DSCAN I just saw the Astero change to a Capsule and as I landed on grid, I see the Vexor Navy Issue and 5 Warrior II had actually popped the Astero.  The VNI sucked in the drones and warped away.

We were low on Entosis defenders so losing that was going to prolong this charade.  JOY!

The nodes started to pop so I undocked the blackbird and set to work in the first system.  Amy reshipped to Logistics and the fleet waited for action.

After the node was finished I needed to find another one.

I scouted with the Proteus and found another one 2 jumps away.  There was a neut in system, but we had a fleet so I thought "What the hell".  It was a known Covert Cyno alt so maybe I could bait a blops battleship.

I notified the fleet and away we went.

Before the the warmup cycle finished a Purifier appeared on grid.  He we go, action stations!  I uncloaked the proteus and opened fire, web and scram as soon as I got a lock (Yes in my excitement I still webbed and scrammed a stationary Cyno ship).  A Cyno had already been lit and our scouts reported a SIN was enroute.  Sure enough the Sin landed and launched Ogre IIs.  The Proteus popped the Cyno ship but the Blackbird was under attack.  It was taking ages to target the Sin with the blackbird and as I was ready to Jam it, Boom, it's over 100km away.  Damn MJD.  Out of target range.  Booo.

The fleet landed on grid just in time to see the Blackbird pop and my capsule escape.  One of the guys popped the capsule of the Cyno and the Sin warped away.  I re-shipped to the rookie velator and one of the guys dropped off my wreck's loot.  Haw Haw the Entosis and stront dropped.  A quick refit of the Velator and I was ready to continue Entosising.  The Ishkur had picked up from where I'd left off so I went scouting elsewhere.

A few nodes later and about an hour and a half after we started, the defense was complete.  Well that popped my BLOPS cherry!  I'll have to organise another blackbird.  This time minus the cloak so I can target quicker, and add a sebo to extend my target range.  More lessons learned
