The New Wormholes

Tonight I was pottering around Nullsec in my Helios when mention of a Wormhole nearby was mentioned.  A corp member scanned it down and linked the system.  It didn't appear on Static Mapper.

It must be one of the new shattered wormholes.  I want to check it out so I made the 40+ jumps from where I was to this Nullsec system for a peek.  These wormholes have only been around for a few days.  Let's see what's going on in them.

When I arrived on grid with the wormhole, it was a K162 from Dangerous Unknown.  Looks like a C4 class to me then.  There was nothing on the info screen to indicate is was any different to the wormholes we've been exploring before the latest patch.

I zoned in as I just had to have a look around this thing.

There was quite a few sites and anoms in here.  DSCAN was clear so no one uncloaked was around.

I launched combat probes, moved away from the hole and cloaked.  Bookmarked the exit.  K346 Nullsec.  Once again the same as any other wormhole.

I warped to the far planets to dcsan the whole system.  There were no other ships, wrecks or probes in here.

There was however something new here.  An Epicenter.  OK let's warp there at 70km.  This was pretty cool.  There were the broken parts of sleeper sites, and multiple Wormhole animations.  A few Sleepers on grid, but there was no pop up box that pops up when you enter the other combat sites within a wormhole.

I must say it did have a cool feel to it.  The shitty brown colour of the place did remind me of our C3 wormholes before they prettied them up though.

Then there are the shattered planets that you can't use PI and the shattered moons you can't use a POS on.

Will we all run these wormholes living out of an Orca or T2 Fleet Hanger?  Probably not, but depending on the traffic coming through they could be good for day tripping.

I decided to scan down a few of the other anoms in this hole.  2 other wormholes.  The K346 I came through.  An C247 and an X877.  A few gas sites and data sites.  With that done I jumped back out the way I came and thought I'd call it a night.

It was cool to see something new again.  Especially when I have more experience on what it is that I'm looking it.  My first trip into a wormhole ever was in an Imicus and when I saw other ships on dscan I shat myself.  Now i'm jumping through Nullsec to get to places.
